6/19/2025 AM & PM whale waiting and dolphin watching

On two unforgettable whale watching trips, we were surrounded by the incredible energy of common dolphins—hundreds of them, including adorable calves, racing alongside the boat. They launched themselves high into the air, performing acrobatic jumps that had everyone on board cheering in awe! The ocean felt alive with their playful spirit and sheer numbers.

As if that wasn’t enough, we also encountered the more mysterious Risso’s dolphins, gliding just beneath the surface with quiet grace. Their calm, ghostly presence added a touch of wonder and contrast to the high-energy show put on by the common dolphins.

An ocean adventure packed with action, beauty, and unforgettable moments!

It was a dolphin trifecta kind of day in San Diego! We saw 3 different species of dolphins! We were first greeted with a pod of 50 offshore bottlenose dolphins riding the wake of the boat, followed by 150-200 dolphins in a feeding frenzy, lastly a pod of 10 Risso’s dolphins cruising by. We also got a glance of an ocean sunfish sunbathing on the surface.
