Aboard the Legacy, the ocean felt charged with possibility. Before long, humpbacks appeared on the horizon, sweeping gracefully through San Diego’s waters. We watched in awe as they fed on shimmering schools of sardines, the sea erupting with silver and spray as the whales surged upward. As the afternoon light softened, the giants continued their journey south for the winter, and we turned back toward shore—grateful, humbled, and still buzzing with the thrill of witnessing their wild, powerful passage.
