2.15.2026 AM Whale Watch

Our latest trip aboard the Legacy Whale Watching brought a mix of anticipation and excitement. We spotted several southbound gray whales on their migration, though they stayed just out of reach close enough to admire, yet keeping their steady course down the coast. But the ocean had another surprise in store. We were lucky enough to encounter a lively pod of long beaked common dolphins, and they quickly stole the show. Surfing effortlessly in the vessel’s wake and darting back and forth across the bow, they treated us to an incredible display of speed and agility. Watching them accelerate alongside the boat was a vivid reminder of just how fast and athletic these dolphins truly are. Even without a close whale encounter, the energy and playfulness of the dolphins made for an unforgettable day on the water—one of those outings that reminds you every trip offshore holds its own special magic.
