2.22.2026 AM Whale Watch

Our recent trip aboard the Legacy Whale Watching was a reminder that every day on the ocean tells a different story. Even though we’ve been seeing gray whales traveling both north and south in recent days, they proved elusive on this outing and managed to stay out of sight. Heading farther west, we began to notice scattered groups of dolphins spread across the area. While there were plenty around, they weren’t easy to spot. The dolphins were staying low in the water, focused and intent on hunting, likely working schools of bait beneath the surface. Instead of bow riding and leaping, they moved with purpose subtle dorsal fins slicing through the water before quickly disappearing again. It may not have been a day of dramatic whale sightings, but witnessing dolphins in full feeding mode offered its own fascinating glimpse into life offshore. Every trip brings something unique and being out on the water watching the rhythms of wildlife unfold is always an experience worth having.
