7.19.2025 Bird Watching Trip
Our 12-hour bird watching trip was nothing short of spectacular—an unforgettable journey blending the wonders of sea and sky into one thrilling day!
We started with calm seas and crisp air, scanning the horizon for signs of life. It wasn’t long before the ocean erupted with action: pods of common dolphins sliced through the waves, their sleek bodies gliding just beneath diving flocks of elegant terns. The terns plunged like feathered arrows into shimmering bait balls of anchovies, creating a frenzy of motion that left us all breathless.
As we ventured farther offshore, we were treated to a rare and awe-inspiring sight: minke whales surfacing gracefully in the distance, their smooth backs breaking the surface in slow, deliberate arcs.
But the highlight for many came overhead, with a remarkable abundance of black-footed albatross soaring effortlessly across the wind-swept skies. With wingspans that seemed to stretch forever and a commanding presence, these seabirds reminded us of the wild power and beauty of the open ocean.
It was a day that blurred the line between bird watching and marine safari—filled with wonder, motion, and a deep connection to nature. From diving terns to gliding albatross and breaching whales, every moment delivered something magical.
