Veteran’s Day Excursions

Happy Veteran’s and thank you to all our current and former members of the armed services. Today most of the marine life pushed a little bit west. We went North outside of La Jolla this morning and had to extend our range a little bit, but we were able to view a nice group of long beaked common dolphins right before we had to make the run home. This afternoon we had large groups of both long beaked and short beaked common dolphins exhibiting feeding behavior with groups of pelicans, shearwaters and gulls. Speaking of birds, there was fair sign of Bonaparte’s gulls in the area today. We saw a distant Humpback whale spout but we were never able to make contact before we had to turn for the harbor. Looking forward to trying again tomorrow.
