06.20.2025 PM Whale Watch
What a gorgeous day out on the ocean: sunny a warm, with only mild waves. Not too long after we left the harbor, we encountered our first pod of dolphins. Common dolphins to be precise. Always a joy to see these graceful creatures. As we continued our trip, we got to see another, very small group of dolphins but a special kind: Risso’s dolphins. They are squid eaters and one of the bigger dolphins. After watching them for awhile we continued to hopefully find a whale. We had no such luck today, but did see another, bigger, pod of common dolphins. This group was very playful: they jumped, flipped, surfed the waves and tail flapped. Great fun to watch.
