During today’s whale watching trip aboard The Legacy, passengers were treated to exciting sightings of both bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and common dolphins (Delphinus delphis).
-
Bottlenose Dolphins: Known for their robust bodies and curved dorsal fins, a pod was observed cruising near the vessel. These dolphins displayed typical social behavior, swimming in small groups and occasionally riding the bow wave.
-
Common Dolphins: A large, energetic pod of common dolphins delighted passengers with their high-speed swimming and acrobatics. Easily recognizable by their hourglass pattern and sleek bodies, they often approached the boat in large numbers, engaging in playful leaps.
Both species showcased their natural behaviors in the wild, offering an unforgettable experience for everyone aboard.
