06.24.2025 AM Whale Watch
What an unforgettable day out at sea! Our whale watching trip aboard the Legacy was nothing short of spectacular, as we had the incredible fortune of spotting two magnificent blue whales, the largest animals on Earth!
The ocean was calm, and anticipation buzzed through the group as we set off. Within a couple of hours, towering spouts appeared on the horizon—two blue whales surfacing in tandem, gracefully gliding through the water. At over 80 feet long and weighing up to 200 tons, their sheer size left everyone in awe. Watching them exhale through their blowholes, with mist soaring nearly 30 feet into the air, was a breathtaking sight.
Monday June 24 AM Trip – Blue Whales are Back!
We set out west under absolutely gorgeous conditions with sunny skies, calm seas and great visibility. After 45 minutes and 9 miles out to sea the captain and naturalists spotted the telltale blow of a whale, and as we approached we saw the characteristic steel blue-gray color of a blue whale. What we thought was one whale actually turned out to be a pair of whales who gave us great closeup looks as they slowly moved north. On three different occasions one of these gentle giants showed their massive flukes as they angled down for a deeper dive. An unforgettable and special day ion the Legacy!
