4.14.26 AM and PM Whale
It was a great day on the water! Happy national Dolphin Day!! In the morning as soon as we left we spotted a couple of inshore bottlenose dolphins right inside of the jetties. Then, after just a couple of minutes outside of the bay we got to hangout with a group of common dolphins feeding on the bait fish below. They leaped out of the water and surfed our wake. We were lucky enough to hangout with common dolphins sporadically throughout our entire trip.
After returning in from our morning trip we set out for the afternoon, where we also got to see a big pod of inshore bottlenose right inside of the jetties. After traveling north for a while we ran into a large pod of common dolphins just finishing up a meal and deciding to come join us and play in our wake. We kept pushing West and saw a spout in the distance, as we got close we realized it was a fin whale! This Fin whale changed directions, headed right for our boat and circled around a couple times before we had to start our journey home.
